Screen Awards 2014 Style Report Card: Hits And Flops

The recently concluded Screen Awards saw a galore of Bollywood hot shots in their best (at least they thought so) attires. Here's a Popcorn review of their fashion statements:

Give him any Rahul, he'll do it with equal ease and conviction. Here, Shah Rukh Khan does a stylish, sophisticated Rahul. And all we can think of doing is DROOL!

Dad Amitabh Bachchan has a better sense of styling... and posing. Don't you agree?

An all-black dress with just a delectable dash of gold... only Deepika Padukone can pull off the risky 'cocktail'. Not to forget, an all-covered dress with a peppery yet subtle peek at her neckline... again, only Deepika can ace the look.

You don't need lights when you are inside that tacky, tasteless blazer (or whatever it is called)! Donate that thing, Ranveer.

Given his most recent box-office debacle, Shahid Kapoor is no more a 'poster' boy. Why pose like one then?

Aditi Rao Hydari's modelesque pose is simply bang-on. I have a problem with her too plain off-shoulder gown though... she could have done a lot better than this. But her stylish hairdo saves her boat here.

Oops! Wardrobe malfunction at its peak! I understand how Abhay Deol got that black eye. Wearing just about anything from your cupboard has never been a good idea for a Red Carpet ride. Girlfriend Preeti Desai too deserves a similar eye patch.

We expect much more from Bipasha Basu than doing a boring Anarkali. Even her hairstyle is as dull.

Sonu Sood is hot alright. Only he had not flaunted that straight-out-of-bed look and tired posture.

I wonder if the two directors, Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Rajkumar Hirani, are sharing some jokes on a fellow filmmaker's sad box-office report card. Tsk tsk...

It's time you discarded your clothes from your Bewafa Se Wafa days, Juhi. Take some cues from Sridevi and Madhuri Dixit-Nene, and try something modern yet traditional.

The Sinha family poses for a happy click. While men stick to the safest bet in black, the lady surely stands out here. Not because she looks impressive in her dramatic nude gown, but because she gives her sarees a miss this time around. Sonakshi Sinha could have pulled off a graceful look by not going over the top with her matching clutch and opting for a messy hairdo instead. Better luck next time... as always!

While Karan Johar's attitude declares he's the master of the game, Ayan Mukerji seems happy in his space. We see hints of I-have-it-in-me-to-beat-you in Ayan's mysterious smile.

She may not have convinced us about her potential as a commercial actress, but Chitrangada Singh has clearly been a scorcher at the Bollywood parties. The damsel looks fairy-like gorgeous in her off-white flowy gown.

Neha Dhupia's days are over in B-Town. So is her style sense. We have seen this look ample times in the past that we simply want to move on to the next image now.

Sonali Bendre can come across as an eye candy even in a sack. The lovely lady does a bewitching blue here... her chic gown and luscious locks exude elegance in abundance. So much so that we almost ignored hubby Goldie Behl, who is looking just fine.

That is called experimenting with color and style. And coming out a clear winner. Varun Dhawan looks everything hot here. Sigh!

And we thought Kajol would never disappoint us with her fashion sense! Her monotone gown fails to make a splash. We aren't impressed with her dreary earrings and forced smile either.

Farhan Akhtar is only getting better by the day. The man looks uber suave in this look. But what's wrong with wifey Adhuna? From her funny hairstyle to her uninteresting saree, the star wife is a big turn off.

Vaani Kapoor emerges as an absolute shuddh sizzler, courtesy her sexy off-shoulder gown and smart hairdo.

The trendy gown looks stunning on Shruti Haasan's svelte frame. Add to that, her impressive hairdo and charming smile - the girl is definitely a visual treat!

Vivek Oberoi's all-black suit is a big bore. So is wife Priyanka's equally flavorless saree. Change your stylists, guys.

So far as their bizarre outfits are concerned, Kalki Koechlin and Huma Qureshi leave us flabbergasted! While Kalki still manages to call for a second glance (for the wacky way of draping her saree), Huma drives us up the wall. She is still in her Ek Thi Daayan character, it seems.

Who do you think looked the best at the Screen Awards function?
