Turns out Friday-the-13th is actually an ill-starred day! At least for Hrithik Roshan!
It may not come across as a shocking piece of buzz today, as their separation rumours have been doing the rounds for many months now.
Here's the freshest info and the confirmed one - Hrithik and Sussanne Roshan are calling it quits.
Just a week before they could blow thirteen candles for their wedding anniversary celebration, the couple have decided to part ways.
Hrithik, who is recovering from a recent brain surgery, confirms the news, "Sussanne has decided to separate from me and end our 17-year relationship. This is a very trying time for the entire family and I request the media and the people to grant us our privacy at this time.
"I do not wish this news to disempower my fans and the people about the institution of marriage in any way. I am a firm believer in this institution and respect and honour it at the highest level.
"And once again, I thank my fans for all the concern and prayers for my health. My treatment is going well and I should be able to resume my life in every way very soon. Thank you."
Hrithik and Sussanne tied the knot on 20th December 2000, and have two sons - Hrehaan and Hridhaan.

As clearly suggested in Hrithik's statement, it is Sussanne's decision to move out of the relationship... for reasons best known to her (and Hrithik), of course.
A doleful and low-spirited Roshan takes to Facebook and expresses his feelings in these words, "This is my greatest tribute to love. Sussanne is and will always be the love of my life for the rest of my life. If her smiles are brighter without me my love for her must accomplish that. Unconditional."
If it's Sussanne who wants to go her own way now (and without her childhood sweetheart, that is), we wonder why!
Why The Split:
While it's too early to come to a conclusion as to why the good-looking couple is heading for a splitsville, there had been clear signs of a divorce-on-the-horizon.
The first signs of a disturbed marriage were seen when Hrithik was alleged to have been romantically involved with his Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham leading lady, Kareena Kapoor. Incidentally, HR never worked with KK after that. But the recent developments underline that the two have signed on the dotted line to pair up in Karan Johar's Shuddhi. Could that be the reason behind the current news? Who knows!
The next stings that smacked their relationship were an upshot of Hrithik's alleged hot affair with his Kites co-star and Latino sensation, Barbara Mori, in 2010. The Roshan couple had been hitting the headlines about a likely separation ever since.
Grapevine has, time and again, had it that Hrithik and Sussanne had been finding it really arduous and challenging to get back to a normal life together post the Mori episode.
So much so that Sussanne had shifted to her parents' house few months back. And the fact that she was missing from all the Krrish 3 promotional events, only waxes our belief that the two hadn't been sharing the same bond they once used to celebrate.
Another startling rumour triggering the separation is said to be Sussanne's closeness with the B-Town hunk, Arjun Rampal. There's nothing official that bears testimony to the same though.
If all that's not enough, here's one more possibility to add to the list - Sussanne's not been gelling really well with mum-in-law, Pinky Roshan. Apparently, Sussanne had been asking Hrithik to move out of his parents' house. But the actor was against the idea, thus the rift between the two!
Whatever be the reason behind the split, the confirmation has easily given food for gossip to the crazy star-struck crowd (media as well as the masses) out there. At least till the time another confirmation comes to pass - an official statement as to why the break-up came off.
